Alex Coultas
Alex Coultas grew up in the hills of Perth, in Roleystone. He studied a Bachelor of Science (Viticulture and Oenology) at Curtin University and began working as a casual at Moss Wood for the 2006 vintage, staying on as a casual for 2006-2007 whilst studying.
Alex was then employed at Moss Wood as a full-time vineyard/cellar hand for all of 2008 to 2009. He did vintage at Chateau Lagrange, Bordeaux in 2008. He left Margaret River to travel for 2 years, working vintages at Ata Rangi, Martinborough, Domaine Drouhin Oregon and Millbrook (Perth Hills), and returned to Moss Wood as a casual for 2012 vintage, pruning and growing season.
He was employed as Moss Wood’s Assistant Winemaker at the end of 2012 to 2020, and Senior Winemaker from 2020 until present
