Andrew Dawson

Andrew is owner and winemaker at Yeah Wine, he also really likes wine. Andrew travelled and drunk widely, before, in 2010, enrolling in a WSET Diploma in Hong Kong. This led him to drinking even more widely and eventually returning to Australia to study winemaking at Curtin University; Margaret River in 2015.

He has completed vintages in the Napa Valley and Oregon in the USA; Rheinhessen in Germany and Victoria’s Yarra Valley.  Despite being from “over East” Andrew now calls Margaret River home and has something of a passion for Margaret River Chardonnay.  He previously worked at Thompson Estate before becoming head winemaker at Latitude 34 Wine Company from 2017 until 2021, where he made wines from the beautiful Blackwood Valley as well as Margaret River.

In 2020, Andrew and wife Sian launched YEAH WINE; a label that specialises in small batch of handmade wines from across Western Australia. Their Single Vineyard wines aim to showcase the unique vineyards, soil and terroir of WA. Andrew aims to make wines of personality and flavour, he is happy to experiment, and his Small Batch wines allow winemaking techniques such as blending, skin contact, whole bunch ferments and carbonic maceration to build taste, texture and flavour. Andrew aims to craft wines that are authentic, unique and, most importantly, full of flavour, not wank.
