Brad Wehr
Brad Wehr has been making small-batch artisanal wines in Margaret River since 2003. Brad’s winemaking philosophy is ‘lo-fi’, with gentle handling and minimal adjustments in the winery. The wines are naturally fermented, unfined and unfiltered. Brad and the Amato Vino team are hands-on in terms of the grunt work, the care and guidance, but with a hands off approach to the science of winemaking, using little or no inputs and employing traditional processes. Considered a pioneer in utilising ‘alternative varieties’ in Margaret River, Brad and team choose grapes that excite them. This extends to Mediterranean varieties, obscure and rare grapes, but also includes the classics of Margaret River.
