LS Merchants
Good fruit is the key to great wine. We work with growers from all over Western Australia to source small, special parcels of unique fruit for our wines.
Our goal
To challenge traditional winemaking methods and use techniques we have learned both locally and internationally over the past decade to create unique and stimulating wines. We understand that everyone's taste in wine is different, so instead of dictating your experience, we aim to provide guidance. Join us on this journey by grabbing a bottle of LS Merchants.
Growers
At LS Merchants, we pride ourselves on our commitment to sourcing high-quality fruit. Our fruit is carefully selected from like minded growers who share our passion for the varieties they cultivate. We are truly grateful for the year-round efforts of these vineyard owners, and we understand the immense challenges they face. Without our growers we would be nothing, so next time you have a bottle of LS Merchants, raise a toast to these hard working farmers.
Natural
We don't consider ourselves natural winemakers. Instead, we take a more minimalistic approach to winemaking, focusing on capturing the unique characteristics of each vineyard (terroir) in our wines. We believe that simplicity is key, allowing the fruit to work its magic. While we encourage the use of natural yeasts, sometimes external factors like weather and temperature require us to step in and assist the fermentation process. Some of our wines go through fining and filtration, while others don't. We make this decision based on the specific characteristics of each wine, each year. In ideal conditions, with perfect fruit, we let nature take its course. However, in challenging years with extreme heat, rain, or humidity, the wines may need some extra help. Nonetheless, they will always reflect the unique qualities of the vintage.
