SingleThread is a source-focused farm, restaurant, and inn that offers diners and guests time-honoured preparations of seasonally inspired cuisine and a uniquely curated taste of Sonoma Wine Country. Founded by Kyle and Katina Connaughton, SingleThread draws from their California upbringing and extensive international experiences in Europe and Japan. Rooted in Japanese principles and traditions surrounding hospitality, food culture, and service, SingleThread combines the art of sustainable agriculture with culinary excellence, seamlessly integrating its 24-acre farm into the hospitality experience. The relationship between farmer and chef is central, bringing food sources to the forefront.
Having lived for many years in Japan, the Connaughtons have incorporated Japanese touches into SingleThread, including artisanal products, handmade custom dishes, and donabe from 8th-generation master potters of Iga. SingleThread embraces the concept of “omotenashi,” a heightened sense of hospitality that anticipates a guest’s every need.
SingleThread is a Three Star Michelin Restaurant, and in 2024, its five-room inn received Three Keys from the inaugural Michelin Hotel Guide, one of only eleven U.S. properties to receive this highest honor. The Michelin Guide also awarded SingleThread the coveted Green Star for its commitment to sustainability. In June 2021, its wine program received the Grand Award from Wine Spectator. Additionally, SingleThread has been named in the Top 50 in the World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards. A member of Relais & Chateaux, SingleThread is recognised as a Five Star and Five Diamond property.
