Matt Moran
Matt Moran is one of Australia’s most celebrated and influential chefs, with over 40 years in the food industry. A pioneer of the paddock-to-plate movement, Matt’s philosophy champions fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced produce—deeply inspired by his upbringing on a family farm in rural NSW. He opened his first restaurant at just 22 and has since built an iconic portfolio including Aria, Chiswick, North Bondi Fish, and The Rockley Pub.
Beyond the kitchen, Matt is a prominent media personality. He has hosted and appeared in numerous prime-time TV shows including MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, The Chopping Block, My Restaurant Rules, The Great Australian Bake Off (alongside Maggie Beer), and his own award-winning series Paddock to Plate. Most recently, he co-created and stars in Memory Bites.
Matt is also a best-selling cookbook author, a fourth-generation farmer, and a passionate advocate for sustainability, Australian produce, and the future of the hospitality industry.
