Rob’s pursuit of culinary excellence led him through the rigorous world of fine dining, training under acclaimed chefs and sharpening his skills in some of Canada’s most prestigious kitchens—most notably under Rob Belcham (Fuel Restaurant), Victor Barry (The County General), and Chef Rob Gentile (BUCA and now Stella – West Hollywood).
He mastered classical techniques and developed an eye for detail, learning not only the intricacies of Italian fine dining but also the discipline and creativity required to delight the most discerning palates.
Yet, Rob’s adventurous spirit and thirst for new experiences beckoned him far from his northern roots. Drawn by the wild beauty and burgeoning food culture of Australia’s southwest, he made the bold move across the globe.
Rob’s culinary journey didn’t stop at the Australian border. Before settling down under, he ventured to Europe, where he immersed himself in the rich traditions of Italian fine dining at the renowned Osteria Le Logge. There, Rob honed his craft amid the rolling hills of Tuscany, learning the dance of delicate flavours and impeccable technique that defines Italian cuisine. His passion for all things artisanal led him to Poggio Stenti, where he delved into the ancient arts of butchery and curing, gaining a profound respect for ingredient provenance and the slow mastery of charcuterie.
Here, amidst vineyards and surf-lashed coasts, Rob discovered an appetite for reinvention.
It was in this dynamic region that Rob Webster embarked on a surprising new chapter: trading in the white linen tablecloths of fine dining for the sizzle and camaraderie of the burger grill. He quickly became known as the “Burger King” of Southwest Australia, melding the precision of his classical training with a playful approach to casual fare.
