Skigh McMannus
Skigh McManus is a renowned winemaker based in Western Australia's Margaret River region. His journey in the wine industry began immediately after high school with a placement at Howard Park in Denmark, WA. Over the years, he has honed his craft through more than 30 vintages across diverse regions, including New Zealand, Canada, the United States, Spain, France, and various parts of Australia.
In 2016, Skigh established his own label, Skigh Wine, focusing on producing wines that are vibrant, balanced, and true to their origin. His approach emphasizes minimal intervention, utilizing spontaneous ferments with indigenous yeasts, minimal additions, and low sulphur at bottling. The result is a range of vegan-friendly wines that are both approachable and expressive of their terroir.
Skigh's commitment to innovation and community engagement is evident in his ventures like the Strange Brew wine bar in Cowaramup, which offers a relaxed and unconventional wine experience.
